Furniture industry veteran Selig Drezner dies at 85
Was partner in upholstery producer DL&S Inds.

HIGH POINT — Selig Drezner, an industry veteran and partner here in upholstery producer DL&S Inds., died Sunday. He was 85.

A native of Chicago and a former attorney, Drezner got his start in home furnishings as president of Delwood Products, a maker of legs for the furniture and electronics industries.

In 1969 he moved to High Point with his brother Lee Drezner and started making recliners. The business eventually morphed into Chairs Ltd., expanding into swivel rockers, chaises and other upholstery primarily for furniture retailers and mail order operations.

The Drezners retired briefly in 1985 but returned to business months later as co-owners of DL&S, making contemporary and transitional upholstery in High Point.

Selig Drezner was a veteran of World War II. He is survived by his brother, two nephews and a niece.

Funeral arrangements have yet to be made. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Assn. or the charity of one's choice.
